The Anatomical Pathology department consists of Cytology and Histology units. It processes and provides diagnoses to specimens obtained from surgery, including resections, incisional and excisional biopsies, core needle biopsies, as well as fine needle aspirations, pap smears, and body fluids. We offer our service to patients from different public and private health facilities in Namibia.

The pathologists heading this departmnent are: Dr Fredrick Kidaaga, Dr. Liubov Iskhakova, Dr. Jean Hategekimana, Dr. Marcellin Mugabe and Dr. Matomola Mwange.

The department provides diagnoses to over 15000 surgical and autopsy pathology specimens yearly in addition to around 25000 cytopathology specimens hence providing valuable information on different medical conditions such as benign, malignant, infectious, and inflammatory diseases to assist in better and accurate patient management. Additionally, our pathologists provide valuable consultative services to clinicians seeking guidance with challenging cases.
