NIP is a wholly state owned entity. It is managed and controlled by a eight (8) member Board of Directors appointed by the Minister of Health and Social Services, in accordance with the Namibia Institute of Pathology Act (Act no: 15 of 1999) . With a few exemptions, the NIP is governed by the Companies Act (Act no; 61 of 1973) like any other company.
The operational management of the company is in the hands of an Executive Management Committee, chaired by a Chief Executive Officer who is a health professional with extensive management experience.
